Author Visit: Jill Battle - Dunnville Branch
Event Description
Join local author, podcaster, and chronic illness advocate, Jill Battle, at the Dunnville Branche of the Haldimand County Public Library as she discusses her book Pain, Purpose and Pickles.
Pain, Purpose and Pickles is the author’s memoir reflecting on and sharing lessons learned from her experiences with devastating personal losses; her diagnosis of the rare chronic illness Addison’s Disease and all the uncertainties stemming from that diagnosis; and her discovery of unconditional self-love, self-worth and finding true purpose in life.
According to Nick Fern of The Haldimand Press,
"[This] memoir offers hope, humour and hard truths about rare disease...While the book contains medical overviews and practical advice for living with Addison's, its strength lies in deeply personal reflections - stories of frustrations, resilience and triumph...it's also a call to action for understanding and support around a rare, potentially life-threatening autoimmune condition.."
Visit Jill at the Dunnville Branch to obtain a signed copy of her book and discuss with Jill her advocacy and the supportive community she has created for those experiencing chronic illness.
